Best Fintech Branding Agencies in 2026

Key takeaways

  • Focus Lab publishes the clearest price ladder in the category, starting at $15,000 a month.

  • Clay and Fuzzco carry the strongest fintech client evidence, with Stripe, Discover and Ramp between them.

  • Verve has done the most financial services work of anyone here.

  • Your stage decides which of the four to call.

Most published rankings for this query are written by agencies that appear in them, so we built this one from records we hold and verify, scoring each firm on the six criteria at /methodology: client evidence 30, specialisation and fit 30, commercial transparency 20, independent recognition 10, tenure 5, documented outcomes 5. Every price was read from the firm's own site on 15 September 2026, and a figure we could only find on a third party profile is attributed rather than presented as the firm's published rate. Read the full method. No entry on this list is a paid placement.

A fintech sells trust before it sells a product. Someone is being asked to move money, share an account, or hand over identity documents, and they decide whether to do that in the seconds before they read anything. That is why fintech companies rebrand earlier and more often than most software businesses, and why the work is harder than it looks from outside: the same identity has to read as exciting to an investor, safe to a customer, and legible to a compliance reviewer who will object to the word "guaranteed".

This page ranks fifteen agencies that have done that work, with the named clients to show for it. It sorts on evidence you can check rather than on reputation, and it tells you which stage each firm is actually built for, because the gap between a $25,000 engagement and a $350,000 one is the thing that decides whether you are shopping in the right place at all.

How we ranked these

Six criteria, the same six behind every ranking on this site, weighted for a vertical where proof of sector work matters more than general prestige. Full definitions at /methodology.

  • Client evidence · 30 · Named fintech clients, checkable on the firm's own work pages
  • Specialisation and fit · 30 · Actual financial services work, not a general technology portfolio with one payments logo in it
  • Commercial transparency · 20 · What the firm publishes about cost before a sales call
  • Independent recognition · 10 · Awards and partner tiers verified on the awarding body's own page
  • Tenure · 5
  • Documented outcomes · 5

Transparency is weighted heavily for a reason. In a category where published figures span $15,000 to well over $1,000,000, a firm that tells you where it starts is saving you a month.

What these fifteen publish

The single most useful thing to know before you send fifteen enquiry emails.

  • Three publish a price on their own site. Focus Lab sets out a full ladder in its FAQ: focused branding from $15,000 a month running one to three months, structural rebrands from $25,000 a month running three to five, and retainers from $5,000 a month, all month to month with a 30 day money back guarantee. SVZ states a $50,000 to $250,000 range for branding projects and an accelerated option at 25k or less. Sanctuary Computer publishes an hourly range of $175 to $295 rather than a project band.
  • Both of the real rate cards are buried. Focus Lab's and SVZ's live on FAQ sub-pages that nothing in either site's main navigation points at. If you judged either firm by its homepage you would conclude it publishes nothing.
  • Eight publish nothing at all. Clay, MetaLab, Ramotion, Verve, Red Antler, Refokus, Big Human and R/GA all route you to a contact form. This is the category norm rather than a failing of any one firm.
  • Where a figure exists off site, it is the firm's own declaration. Fuzzco, Clay, Veza Digital and 8020 have numbers on Clutch or Webflow's partner directory that do not appear on their own sites. Those are worth something as a signal of scale, and nothing as a quote.
  • One publishes terms instead of prices. Sanctuary Computer states that it bills in arrears for work already done and that its contracts carry no minimum commitment, which for a pre revenue company is often worth more than a headline rate.

The constraint nobody warns you about

Whatever you build has to survive a compliance review. Claims about returns, security and protection are regulated in most markets, and an identity built around a promise your legal team later strikes out is an expensive redo. Ask any agency on this list how it has handled a regulated claim before, and treat a blank look as the answer.

Technology-driven companies that want brand identity, digital product design, and web experiences developed as a single, cohesive system.

    About Clay

Clay is a digital brand and UX design agency known for creating visually distinctive, product-driven brand experiences for technology companies. Their work sits at the intersection of brand identity and digital product design, often blurring the line between marketing websites, platforms, and core product experiences. Clay is particularly recognised for translating complex technology into clear, high-impact digital interfaces that feel modern, confident, and commercially sharp. Rather than treating brand and product as separate disciplines, Clay designs them as a unified system where visual identity, interaction design, and motion work together to shape perception and usability. This approach has made Clay a go-to partner for fast-growing startups and established tech companies that want their digital presence to feel premium, coherent, and future-ready.

The figures that circulate, a $50,000 minimum and a $150 to $199 hourly rate, come from its Clutch profile and are the firm's own declaration, so treat them as a scale signal rather than a quote.

    Featured work

    • CafePay

For CafePay, Clay developed a complete brand identity and digital experience for a modern payments platform designed to simplify everyday transactions. The challenge was to create a brand that felt trustworthy and technically robust, while still being approachable for a broad consumer audience. Clay approached the project by aligning brand strategy with product experience, ensuring that visual identity, interface design, and interaction patterns worked together as a cohesive system. The result is a confident, contemporary brand expressed consistently across the product and marketing touchpoints. CafePay demonstrates Clay’s ability to build brands that live natively in digital environments, where clarity, usability, and visual distinctiveness are equally important.

For Wealth, Clay delivered a product-led brand identity and digital platform design for a fintech product focused on personal finance and investing. The challenge was to communicate credibility and simplicity in a category often associated with complexity and intimidation. Clay created a refined visual language and interface system that emphasises clarity, hierarchy, and ease of use. By tightly integrating brand expression with product design, the platform reinforces trust through interaction rather than messaging alone. The project highlights Clay’s strength in shaping brand perception through product experience where brand values are embedded directly into how the platform looks, feels, and behaves.

    Best for
SaaS and fintech companies that want a small senior studio on brand and website rather than a large agency team.

    About Fuzzco

The client list is the reason to take this seriously for our purposes. Notion, Ramp, Figma and AssemblyAI are exactly the companies our readers benchmark themselves against, and a studio that has done brand work for all four has stronger SaaS proof than most of the larger firms in our pool.

Self described as full service agency expertise with a small studio practice, which is the useful shape for a funded startup that wants senior attention. Retainer clients are mentioned explicitly, so ongoing work is part of the model. Stated sector spread covers fintech, productivity software, AI and machine learning, healthcare and consumer.

The record has real gaps: no headquarters, team size, founding year or pricing is stated anywhere on the site, so `location` is blank rather than guessed and must be confirmed before this is used in a US filtered list. Custom typeface work suggests genuine craft depth on identity.

Its starting figure and hourly rate sit on a Clutch profile with no reviews behind them, which makes them the weakest kind of published number. Worth confirming directly on a first call.

A full rebrand of a developer-facing authentication and fraud-prevention product after its Series B. The engagement ran from brand narrative through visual identity, a custom illustration system for abstract security concepts, and a web design system built to carry both brand storytelling and product marketing. It shows Fuzzco working inside a technical category where the audience is engineers, not consumers.

B2B, healthcare, and technology organisations that need strategic clarity translated into robust, scalable brand and digital systems.

    About Verve

Verve is an Amsterdam-based branding agency focused on helping organisations clarify their positioning and translate strategy into clear, usable brand systems. Their work sits at the intersection of strategy, design, and digital execution, with a strong emphasis on building brands that function effectively across real-world touchpoints. Rather than creating decorative identities, Verve prioritises structure, logic, and consistency ensuring that brand decisions are grounded in insight and can scale over time. They frequently work with complex organisations, including B2B, healthcare, and technology-driven companies, where clarity, trust, and internal alignment are essential. Verve’s approach makes them particularly well suited to brands undergoing change, growth, or the need to communicate expertise with confidence.

The about page claims more than 300 brands since 2007 while the public portfolio shows roughly twenty, which is a normal curated selection rather than a discrepancy, but it does mean the visible work is the evidence you have.

    Featured work

    • Ecommpay

For Ecommpay, Verve delivered a comprehensive brand and digital redesign for a global payment service provider operating in a highly technical and regulated space. The challenge was to clarify a complex offering while building trust with enterprise clients, partners, and developers across international markets. Verve approached the project by strengthening Ecommpay’s positioning and translating it into a clear, confident visual and digital system. The identity balances professionalism with approachability, while the redesigned digital experience prioritises clarity, hierarchy, and ease of navigation. The result is a brand that communicates credibility without feeling distant, demonstrating Verve’s ability to make complex fintech services accessible and coherent through design.

For Inbox Monster, Verve created a mascot-led brand identity for an email deliverability platform looking to stand out in a crowded, technically driven category. The challenge was to differentiate the brand without undermining credibility, while making a complex product more engaging and memorable. Verve developed a distinctive visual system built around a character-driven identity that adds personality and approachability to the brand. The mascot functions as a flexible brand device, supporting storytelling across digital touchpoints while remaining grounded in a structured design system. This project highlights Verve’s strength in using expressive branding tools—like illustration and character design within disciplined, scalable frameworks.

Product-led technology companies that need UX-driven design, robust design systems, and brand expression embedded directly into digital products.

    About Metalab

MetaLab is a product design agency best known for shaping some of the world’s most widely used digital products. Their work is deeply rooted in product thinking, focusing on usability, clarity, and scalability rather than surface-level aesthetics. MetaLab typically partners with product-driven companies at critical moments early growth, rapid scale, or platform maturity where design decisions have long-term structural impact. Rather than separating brand and product, MetaLab treats them as tightly connected systems. Visual identity, interaction design, and product architecture are developed together to ensure consistency across user experience and brand perception. This approach has made MetaLab a trusted partner for technology companies building tools that must feel intuitive, durable, and credible over time.

Sources describe the firm differently: its own about page reads as fully distributed and names no headquarters, while third party profiles give a Canadian head office and a narrower headcount. Worth asking who would actually be on your team and where.

    Featured work

    • Uber

For Uber, MetaLab partnered on the design of core product experiences used by millions of people worldwide. The challenge was to support rapid global scale while ensuring the product remained intuitive, trustworthy, and consistent across regions, use cases, and user types. MetaLab focused on refining interaction patterns, interface clarity, and system-level design decisions that shape how the Uber brand is experienced day to day. Rather than approaching branding as a visual exercise, the work embeds brand values, reliability, speed, and ease directly into product behaviour. This project exemplifies how brand perception can be built and sustained through product design at massive scale.

The challenge was to improve usability for both freelancers and clients while reinforcing Upwork’s position as a credible, enterprise-ready platform. MetaLab approached the project through deep product thinking, aligning interface design, hierarchy, and interaction flows with Upwork’s brand promise. By simplifying workflows and strengthening consistency across the platform, the redesign improved both user confidence and brand perception. The work demonstrates MetaLab’s strength in delivering branding through product systems where experience, not messaging, defines the brand.

    About Red Antler

Red Antler is a New York–based branding agency best known for helping early-stage and high-growth companies define who they are at critical moments of launch and scale. Their work focuses on building brands from the ground up, shaping positioning, identity, and voice in a way that resonates with modern consumers and investors alike. The agency is particularly strong at translating business ideas into clear, distinctive brand narratives that work across product, marketing, and culture. Red Antler’s approach blends strategic rigor with expressive design, making their brands feel confident, relevant, and human from day one. This has made them a go-to partner for startups looking to establish credibility quickly while building brands that can evolve as the business grows.

Its reputation and much of its portfolio sit in direct to consumer rather than financial services, so ask to see the regulated work specifically.

    Featured work

    • Hinge

For Hinge, Red Antler led a brand repositioning to help the dating app stand apart in a crowded category dominated by casual, swipe-first narratives. The challenge was to articulate a clearer emotional promise, one focused on intention, connection, and outcomes while evolving the brand without losing existing recognition. Red Antler refined Hinge’s positioning and translated it into a more mature, expressive identity system that could scale across product, marketing, and cultural touchpoints. The work aligned visual language, tone of voice, and brand behaviour around a single, resonant idea. This project demonstrates Red Antler’s strength in shaping brands through meaning and narrative, not just aesthetics.

From naming and tone of voice to visual identity and launch execution, the brand was designed to feel friendly, confident, and culturally relevant. About Ramotion

Ramotion is a brand and product design agency that helps technology companies define their identity and translate it into digital products and platforms. Their work is highly execution-driven, combining brand strategy, visual identity, and UX/UI design into cohesive systems that scale across apps, websites, and marketing touchpoints. Ramotion often works at moments of transition, launch, rebrand, or rapid growth where consistency between brand expression and product experience is critical. Their projects typically balance bold visual language with practical design systems that support long-term use and iteration.

    Featured work

    • Mozilla Firefox

For Mozilla Firefox, Ramotion worked on a brand redesign aimed at modernising one of the world’s most recognisable open-source technology brands. The challenge was to refresh Firefox’s visual identity while preserving its values around openness, privacy, and accessibility without alienating an existing global user base. Ramotion developed a refined visual system that strengthened clarity, scalability, and consistency across digital touchpoints. The redesign focused on simplifying forms, improving recognisability at small sizes, and creating a flexible system that could adapt across products and platforms. B2B and SaaS companies that have outgrown their original identity and need brand strategy and visual identity rebuilt together rather than a website refresh.

    About Focus Lab

A rare thing in our current pool: an agency that is explicitly and only B2B. Positioning is brand identity and strategy for companies wanting to stand out as industry leaders, delivered by a stated mix of brand designers, strategists and writers.

The pricing signal is unusually good for an agency site. The contact form exposes real budget bands running from under $30,000 up to $250,000 and above, alongside a monthly retainer option, which is enough to place it confidently for buyers with a stated budget. Copyright dates from 2010 and the site claims more than a decade of operation.

Operating remotely across the US, with no single office stated. Team size is not stated, though the team page pictures more than thirty people. The B2B focus and the SaaS client work make this a strong candidate for the SaaS branding and B2B cuts.

B2B tech startups whose brand and website have fallen behind the company, especially in AI, energy, infrastructure and fintech, plus venture firms. Budgets from $40,000.

    About Refokus

Refokus is a branding and web agency for B2B tech startups, built around a single premise: the company has changed faster than the way it presents itself, so the brand and the website get rebuilt together rather than one after the other. Engagements typically run brand strategy and positioning, visual identity, then design and development in Webflow or Framer, with custom creative development where the idea needs it. The work clusters in categories where the product is hard to explain — AI, energy and grid technology, drilling intelligence, carbon removal, fintech — and the case studies are written as arguments about positioning rather than as galleries. Around 90 percent of clients are in the US, and a second cluster of work sits with venture firms. Commercially it is one of the more legible agencies at this level. The contact page carries four budget bands from $40,000 to $250,000-plus, says what each one buys, and gives a typical timeline of eight to fourteen weeks, so a buyer can self-qualify before booking a call. It suits a company that wants brand and site handled by the same senior team and can fund a five-figure project; it is not a fit for anyone shopping for a template build or for ongoing performance marketing.

The starting figure we hold came from the firm rather than from a published page, and its positioning changed substantially at a relaunch, so confirm the current floor rather than working from any number you find.

    Featured work

    • Meridian

Refokus built Meridian’s brand from nothing: positioning and strategy first, then visual identity, then the website designed and developed in Webflow. Meridian is an AI search visibility product, a category with no established language yet, so the work was mostly about deciding what the company was claiming to be before anything was designed. Refokus reports that the launch drove heavy demand for platform trials, though no figure is published. CSS Design Awards Site of the Day, 2025.

    Best for
Funded startups that need product, brand and launch marketing from one team rather than stitching three vendors together.

    About Big Human

Unusually broad for its size, covering product design, brand and performance marketing under one roof. That breadth is the pitch and also the caveat: a firm listing paid search, social, email and full stack engineering alongside brand strategy is not a specialist in any of them, and a buyer who needs depth on one discipline should compare it against a focused shop.

Founded 2010 and based in the New York metropolitan area with stated offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago, working remotely. Vine and HQ Trivia are era defining consumer products and give the portfolio real credibility on consumer mobile specifically.

Stated sector coverage is very wide, from fintech and healthcare to Web3, AI and space exploration, which reads more like a portfolio index than a focus. Team size is described only as small but mighty, and no pricing is stated.

That breadth is also the thing to probe: a firm listing paid search, email and full stack engineering next to brand strategy is a generalist by design, so ask who specifically does the identity work.

Big Human has been Rockefeller Center's digital agency of record since 2021, a partnership now past four years. The scope covers content strategy, The Center Magazine and newsletter, the ticketing flow and backend infrastructure. It is the clearest evidence on their site that they can hold a long-running, multi-discipline account for a high-traffic destination rather than only ship one-off builds.

    About Bakken & Bæck

Bakken & Bæck is a digital-first design studio known for blending strong brand thinking with deep product and UX expertise. Founded in Norway and now operating across Europe, the studio has built a reputation for working closely with startups and scale-ups to shape brands that live primarily through digital products. Unlike traditional branding agencies, Bakken & Bæck approaches brand as something experienced through interfaces, interactions, and systems, not just logos and visuals. Their work often begins with product strategy and user experience, then extends naturally into brand identity and visual language. This makes them especially well-suited for early-stage and growth-stage companies where product and brand need to evolve together. The studio operates with small, senior-led teams and a highly collaborative process. Projects tend to be thoughtful, research-driven, and built for long-term scalability rather than surface-level polish.

The hourly figure attached to this firm in public sources is marked as an estimate rather than a published rate, so it should not be used for budgeting.

    • IKEA Studio

Bakken & Bæck developed the brand identity and creative system for IKEA Studio, an experimental IKEA platform focused on exploring future living, design research, and conceptual ideas. The work centred on creating a distinct visual language that could exist alongside IKEA’s core brand while still feeling clearly connected to it. The identity was designed to be flexible and expressive, supporting storytelling, research outputs, exhibitions, and concept-led content across both digital and physical environments. Rather than a commercial brand system, the work positioned IKEA Studio as an exploratory space allowing ideas, prototypes, and narratives to be communicated with clarity and consistency.

The challenge was to bring clarity and trust to a product dealing with highly technical and often intimidating subject matter. The branding focused on creating a clean, structured visual system that could scale across product, web, and marketing touchpoints. The result was a brand that balances crypto-native credibility with more traditional financial cues, helping CoinTracker communicate reliability, transparency, and ease of use as the platform grew.

Funded B2B software companies that want an enterprise grade Webflow site from a small senior team rather than a large agency.

    About 8020

The strongest US Webflow record we hold. Two facts carry it: the studio states it was one of Webflow's first five Enterprise Partners, and the client list is squarely the audience our readers belong to, with Vanta, Circle and Pilot.com all being well known B2B software companies.

Fourteen people across design, development, client partners, operations and finance, so it is genuinely small and senior rather than a large agency with a Webflow department. Webflow's own certified partner directory lists it at Premium and Enterprise tier out of New York with projects starting at $30,000, which is a useful and verifiable budget signal.

Stated sector coverage is AI, fintech, health tech, creators, enterprises and venture capital. Founding year is not stated, and no ongoing retainer or support offering is described, which is worth checking before it goes on the maintenance list.

This is a Webflow first studio, so brand identity sits alongside the build rather than being the whole offer. If you want positioning and naming without a website attached, say so early.

    • Huberman Lab — podcast archive rebuilt as a searchable platform

8020 restructured Huberman Lab's site around a modular content system covering 22 topics and 90+ subtopics, indexing over 4,000 timestamped clips and 300+ hours of audio so the team could publish episode summaries and protocols without developer help. 8020 reports a 100%+ increase in weekly email signups, premium membership sales and daily content searches after launch, and states premium revenue plus a matching contribution from The Tiny Foundation sent $500,000+ to research in the first year. This is the clearest evidence on their site that they can design an information architecture for a large content library, not just a marketing site.

    • Circle.com — strategy, design and Webflow build

A full engagement for the stablecoin infrastructure company spanning strategy, design, Webflow development and post-launch training. Circle is a regulated financial-infrastructure business, so the work shows 8020 operating with an enterprise brand and compliance-sensitive messaging rather than early-stage startups. The case study page itself is image-only, with no written scope or results, so a buyer can inspect the live site but cannot check what was measured.

It is the site's main published example of the migration work they position as a specialism — moving an existing large site off its previous CMS and then training the client's team to run it. As with Circle, the page carries no written narrative or metrics, so the migration's scale is not verifiable from the case study alone.

Mission driven startups, cultural institutions and internal teams at large organisations that want senior engineering without committing to a fixed scope up front.

    About Sanctuary Computer

The commercial terms are the standout. The studio states that it bills in arrears for work already done and that contracts carry no minimum commitment, which is close to the opposite of the quarterly floor Sparkbox sets. For a buyer who wants senior engineering without a large up front commitment, that is a genuinely differentiating term and worth quoting directly.

The client list is the strongest in this batch: Stripe, Figma, Mozilla, Nike, Pinterest, Etsy, Dropbox and IBM alongside cultural institutions including the Brooklyn Museum and the ACLU. Stated audience is mission driven startups, cultural institutions and elite teams inside large organisations.

Capability is broad and technical, extending past web into IoT, embedded software and AI and LLM work. Stated sectors are AI, fintech and crypto, healthcare and IoT. The site does not explicitly state a headquarters city, so `location` is blank rather than guessed; New York is strongly implied by other references and needs confirming.

It publishes an hourly range rather than a project price, so the total depends entirely on scope you have not defined yet. It is also a design and engineering studio first, with brand as part of a wider practice.

B2B SaaS and tech companies that want brand, site and growth handled together.

    About SVZ

A Los Angeles studio working on branding, Webflow and AI systems for technology companies, covering strategy, brand, design, build and growth optimisation as one engagement rather than as separate purchases.

The client evidence is the strongest part of the record. Named work includes Algolia, Fivetran, Patreon, Ramp, Square and Kajabi alongside newer projects for Liberate AI, Oasis Security and XR, which is a venture backed B2B software concentration rather than a general portfolio. The studio also states that it works across the portfolios of Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund and Y Combinator companies, which is a claim about referral flow rather than an accreditation and should be read that way.

No pricing is published at any level and no team size is stated, so both take a call to establish. The founding year is stated inconsistently on the studio's own site, which shows both 2012 and a roman numeral reading of 2013, so it is recorded here as 2012 and is worth confirming directly.

Its published client work is weighted to B2B software rather than financial services, so the fintech evidence is thinner than the technology evidence. Ask to see it.

    • Liberate AI — brand and Webflow site

A full strategy, rebrand and Webflow build for an AI platform selling into insurance, fintech and healthcare. The case study documents the pre-build work — user research, competitor analysis, information architecture, user flows — before design, and the site ships a CMS the client's own team uses for campaign pages. SVZ reports 54% more qualified enterprise demo requests and 3x faster internal landing page turnaround, which is the more telling number: it says the handover left the client able to work without them.

A cybersecurity company that needed to read as credible to enterprise buyers. SVZ repositioned the brand, rewrote the site around outcomes rather than feature lists, and built a content path for gated CISO material. Reported results are 37% more enterprise demo requests and 4x newsletter sign-ups. It demonstrates they can handle a technical security narrative for a specialist audience, not only consumer-facing visual work.

Series B+ startups, scale-ups, and tech-led brands that need brand systems integrated with product, platform, and global growth

    About R/GA

R/GA Europe is the European arm of R/GA, a global creative and innovation company known for building brands at the intersection of design, technology, and business. The studio approaches branding as a dynamic system shaped by product experience, storytelling, and digital interaction rather than static identity alone. R/GA’s work is particularly strong for technology-led organisations where brand expression needs to scale across platforms, products, and global markets. Their branding and creative work often blends strategic positioning with experience design, helping complex products feel human, coherent, and culturally relevant. Operating with multidisciplinary teams across strategy, design, and technology, R/GA Europe is well-suited to well-funded startups and scale-ups that require enterprise-grade thinking, global brand consistency, and future-facing creative systems.

The scale that makes it right for a global programme makes it a poor fit for a seed stage budget, and nothing about cost or team size is stated publicly to help you judge that before a call.

    Featured work

    • Google Android

R/GA partnered with Google to lead the global brand redesign of Android, focusing on clarifying the platform’s identity while preserving its openness and flexibility. The work centred on building a cohesive brand system that could scale across a complex ecosystem of devices, manufacturers, and markets, while remaining recognisable and human-centred. The redesign translated Android’s technical depth into a clear and approachable brand experience across product marketing, digital platforms, motion, and global communications. The result was a unified system that balanced consistency with adaptability, allowing Android to express a stronger, more confident identity across its expanding global footprint.

The work helped define how Google Play shows up across campaigns, digital touchpoints, and promotional experiences, ensuring consistency without limiting creative variation. Their approach goes beyond visual execution, with a strong emphasis on user journeys, messaging clarity, and measurable business outcomes. The agency frequently works with high-growth startups and scale-ups, helping them redesign or rebuild their websites to better support acquisition, activation, and retention. Their Webflow builds are typically structured for scalability, allowing internal teams to manage content while maintaining performance and SEO integrity. Veza Digital is best suited for SaaS companies that view their website as a growth engine, not just a brand asset particularly those looking to improve conversions and align their site with product and marketing goals.

Which one, given where you are

Pre seed to seed, and runway is the constraint. Sanctuary Computer, because no minimum commitment and billing in arrears means you are not paying for a scope you might have to abandon. Focus Lab's $5,000 a month retainer is the other honest entry point, and it is published rather than negotiated.

Series A, rebuilding the brand properly for the first time. Focus Lab or Refokus. Both are built for the company that has outgrown the identity it launched with, and Focus Lab's focused branding tier, $15,000 a month over one to three months, is the clearest published description of what that engagement actually is.

Series B and up, with a product the brand lives inside. Clay, MetaLab or Ramotion. All three treat identity and interface as one problem, which is the right framing once most of your customers experience the brand in an app rather than on a website.

Fintech is the whole point and you want someone who has done it repeatedly. Verve. Six published financial services case studies is not a coincidence, and it is the only firm here where payments work is the pattern rather than the exception.

You are launching rather than repositioning. Red Antler, which has built more brands from nothing than anyone else on this list.

The website is the actual emergency. 8020, SVZ or Veza Digital. All three sell brand and build together, so you are not waiting on a second procurement round to see the work live.

A regulated institution rather than a startup. R/GA, and expect a programme rather than a project.

Before you send the brief

Two things will tell you more than any portfolio. Ask how the firm has handled a claim that compliance rejected, because every agency that has worked in this sector has that story and the ones that have not will say something vague. And ask who is doing the work, by name, because the gap between the team that pitches and the team that delivers is wider in branding than in almost any other service you buy.

Frequently asked questions

How much does fintech branding cost?

Published figures in this market run from roughly $15,000 for a focused engagement at the startup end to $350,000 and above for a structural rebrand, and enterprise consultancies outside this list price well beyond that. The honest answer is that almost nobody publishes anything at all, so the number that matters is not the average but the one attached to your stage, so ask for it in the first email rather than the third meeting.

What makes fintech branding different from branding a normal tech company?

Two things. Trust has to be established before anyone will use the product at all, so the identity is doing a job that a project management tool's brand simply does not have to do. And the copy is regulated: claims about returns, protection and security are constrained in most markets, so wording that a general technology agency would consider safe can be struck out by your legal team. An agency that has worked in the sector will raise this before you do.

Should we hire a fintech specialist or a generalist brand agency?

Look at the work rather than the label. A generalist with three published financial services projects is a better bet than a self described fintech specialist with none, and the sector tags agencies use are marketing rather than evidence. The check that settles it is asking for regulated work specifically, by name, and seeing whether the case studies exist.

How long does a fintech rebrand take?

Focus Lab is the only firm here that publishes durations, and its figures are a useful benchmark for the category: one to three months for a focused branding engagement, three to five for a structural rebrand covering strategy, naming and a full identity system. Add time on top for rollout across a product, which is usually longer than the brand work itself and is frequently left out of the quote.

What should a fintech branding engagement actually deliver?

At minimum: positioning, a verbal identity covering how you describe the product and what you are allowed to claim, a visual identity system, and guidelines a team can apply without coming back. For fintech specifically, insist the verbal identity addresses regulated claims, and that the visual system has been tested inside the product interface rather than only on a marketing site. A logo and a colour palette is not an engagement.

When is the right stage to invest in brand?

Usually later than founders fear and earlier than they act. Before product market fit the brand will change because the product will, so a cheap functional identity is the right call. The moment it becomes worth real money is when you start selling to people who have not heard of you, which for most fintechs is somewhere around Series A or the first enterprise deal. If you are rebranding because a customer did not trust the site, you are already late.

Do we need a separate agency for the website?

Not necessarily, and several firms here do both. 8020, SVZ, Veza Digital and Refokus all sell brand and build as one engagement, which avoids the common gap where a new identity sits in a PDF for months waiting on a web project. The trade is depth: a studio that does both rarely matches a dedicated brand consultancy on naming and strategy, so it depends which half of the job is harder for you.
