Scrunch AI review: persona-based AI visibility monitoring with page audits

Persona-based AI visibility monitoring with page-level audits, for teams tracking how different buyer types get answered.

TL;DR verdict

The most capable purpose-built tracker we assessed, and the one asking the most useful question: not whether you were mentioned, but which kind of buyer failed to find you. Two things hold it back. The floor is the highest here, and the one integration on offer sits behind a sales call.

Best for: Teams that need persona and page-level detail rather than a raw prompt count.

What Scrunch AI is

Scrunch AI monitors how answer engines describe your brand, and it does so per buyer type rather than in aggregate. You define personas, a finance lead and a practitioner say, and it tracks how each gets answered on the same question across seven assistants. Findings attach to individual pages rather than to the brand as a whole, so a gap points at a URL you can go and fix. It is built for teams treating this as an ongoing programme rather than an experiment.

What Scrunch AI is good at

The capabilities it ships, and which of them stand out.

  • Persona-based prompt tracking
  • Page-level AI audits
  • Industry prompt library alongside custom prompts
  • Enterprise Data API
  • 17% discount on annual billing

Standout features

  • It models the asker, not just the question: No rival we assessed does this. Knowing that a technical evaluator gets a different answer than a budget holder is the difference between a score and knowing which deal you are losing.
  • Widest assistant coverage, with no surcharge: Seven are included rather than sold as extras, and Meta appears nowhere else on our ranking. Rivals advertising comparable breadth usually charge per engine on top.
  • Findings attach to a page: An aggregate brand score tells you there is a problem. A URL tells someone what to edit this afternoon, which is what makes the output work rather than merely interesting.
  • The pricing page tells the whole story: Both billing cycles appear side by side with the discount stated, so the penalty for paying monthly is visible before checkout rather than after it.

Where it falls short

What the product does not do, kept separate from what we could not establish.

Product limitations

  • Programmatic access is enterprise-only: The most requested integration here sits behind a sales call, on the tool with the best data to export. Otterly.AI and AIclicks both open theirs around $189.
  • Seats are capped, and capped low: Three seats at entry. A six-person team pays a tier premium for people rather than for data, which is a poor trade when the data is the point.
  • Page audits are the real ceiling: Five a month at entry against 350 custom prompts. The constraint is not what you can track but what you can act on, and that is the smaller number by far.

Could not verify

  • Support runs to one word: No service level is committed at any tier, and the single channel on offer carries no stated hours. Profound publishes a response time; there is nothing equivalent to compare against here.

Who it’s for

A good fit for

  • Teams selling to more than one kind of buyer

If a CFO and an engineer ask different questions and get different answers, no other product we assessed will show you which of them you are losing.

  • Content teams who need to know what to edit

Findings land on a URL, so the output converts into a work queue instead of a discussion about brand perception.

  • Organisations where this is already a budget line

The floor assumes a committed programme. Where that decision is made, the product justifies it more comfortably than anything else here.

Look elsewhere if

  • Anyone still deciding whether to invest at all

The entry cost is roughly ten times the cheapest credible tracker. That is a large bet on a question you have not answered yet.

  • Teams who will build their own reporting

Exporting your data programmatically requires the unpriced top tier, so a reporting plan cannot be costed from the public site.

  • Larger teams counting logins

A fourth colleague triggers an upgrade worth several thousand a year, bought for a login rather than for capability.

Pricing

  • 5 personas
  • 10 page audits
  • $500/mo month-to-month
EnterpriseCustom
  • SAML/OIDC
  • Enterprise Data API
  • Dedicated GTM team

Pricing watchouts

  • The advertised figure is the annual rate. Paying month to month costs 20% more, which is $600 a year at the entry level.
  • The second tier is $417 annually and $500 month to month, so the commitment is $5,004 against $6,000.
  • The entry plan includes three user licences. A fourth person means moving up, a $167 monthly step bought for a seat.
  • Page audits are the tight constraint rather than prompts: five a month at entry, ten on the tier above, against hundreds of tracked prompts.
  • Programmatic access is reserved for an unpriced tier, so budgeting for it is not possible from the published page.

Integrations and support

What Scrunch AI connects to, and what it commits to in writing.

Integrations

Data API (Enterprise only)

Support

Email is the only support channel named anywhere on the site, with no tiered service levels published. The Data API — the one integration offered — is reserved for Enterprise, so the strongest product in the category is also among the least connectable below the top tier. Checked 12 August 2026.

Analysis

Why personas are the interesting part

Most of this category answers one question: when someone asks about your category, does an assistant say your name. That is a reasonable thing to measure and it is a blunt one, because it treats every asker as the same person. In reality a procurement lead, a technical evaluator and an end user ask differently worded questions and get materially different answers, and a brand can be strong with one and invisible to another.

Modelling that difference is the one genuinely distinctive idea we found across the twelve tools we assessed. It converts a visibility number into something closer to a diagnosis: not that you are down, but that you are absent from the answers a particular buyer gets. Whether the personas hold up under real use is the part no public page can settle, and we have not run this on a live account, so the capability reading here is drawn from published specification rather than from output we have seen.

The cost of being unconnected

The gap between how good the data looks and how hard it is to get out is the thing to weigh. This is the strongest tracker we assessed and among the least connectable below the top tier: one integration exists, and it is reserved for a plan carrying no published price. Everything else in the category that leads on capability at least tells you what programmatic access costs.

That matters more in the second year than the first. A team buying this today will work inside the product's own interface, which is well built and probably enough. A team a year in will want the numbers in a board deck alongside pipeline, and at that point the only route is a conversation whose price nobody outside the company can predict. Settle it before signing, not after.

Alternatives to Scrunch AI

Where another tool in the category fits a reader better.

Otterly.AI

Choose this if the budget has to be small and knowable. Far less product, but a tenth of the entry cost and programmatic access at a published price.

Read review

Profound

Choose this if procurement matters as much as the product: single sign-on, a published response commitment, and edge integrations this has no equivalent to.

AIclicks

Choose this if connecting to analytics and a CMS matters more than depth of tracking, and you want that below an enterprise contract.

What to ask before you buy

Aimed at what the public site cannot settle.

  1. What does Enterprise cost, and what is the smallest configuration that includes the Data API?
  2. Can the page audit allowance be raised without moving tier, and at what price?
  3. How are personas built and maintained, and how much of that work falls to us?
  4. Which support channel do we use, and is any response time committed at our tier?
  5. How is Meta coverage sourced, and how often is each assistant queried?

Frequently asked questions

How much does Scrunch AI cost?

From $250 a month billed annually, or $300 month to month. The second tier is $417 annually and $500 monthly, and Enterprise is quoted. Both billing cycles appear on the public pricing page. Checked 12 August 2026.

Which AI engines does Scrunch AI track?

Seven: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta. That is the widest coverage on our AEO ranking, and none of the seven carries an add-on charge.

Does Scrunch AI have an API?

There is a Data API, but only on Enterprise, which carries no published price. If getting your own data into your own systems is part of the plan, establish what that costs before you commit to a lower tier.

How many people can use one plan?

Three at entry and five on the tier above. Seats are metered here, unlike Otterly.AI and Peec AI which both leave them uncapped, so headcount is a real cost input.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, seven days without a card. That is the longest card-free trial we found in this category, and long enough to see a few days of tracking settle.

What are personas, and do they matter?

Personas let you track how different buyer types get answered on the same underlying question, rather than measuring the brand in aggregate. It is the feature no rival offers, and whether it earns the price depends on whether you genuinely sell to distinct audiences.

How did we assess Scrunch AI?

From the vendor's own published pages, read at source on 12 August 2026, and scored against the five review criteria. We have not used the product, so ease of use is left unscored rather than estimated.

Our verdict

Where AI visibility is already a programme rather than an experiment, this is the strongest product we assessed. Persona modelling is a genuinely original idea, seven assistants arrive without surcharges, and the pricing page is honest about what paying monthly adds. What you do not get below the top tier is programmatic access to your own data, and that is the thing most likely to matter once someone asks for these numbers next to pipeline. Buy it for the product, and settle the export question before you sign rather than after.

Revision history

  1. 2026-08-19Rewritten to the new review format; rating 4.0 to 3.5

Rewritten to the rebuilt review format, and rescored against the five review criteria rather than inheriting the AEO ranking score. The rating moves from 4.0 to 3.5. Nothing about the product changed: the review frame does not credit the observable getting-started signals the ranking does, and against capability, cost, integrations and support, a single enterprise-only integration and a one-word support story weigh more heavily. The ranking is a separate assessment with its own criteria and is unaffected.

  2. 2026-08-12Support scored down after auditing what every vendor publishes

Support scored down from 5 to 4 after auditing what every vendor names publicly. Email is the only channel published anywhere on the site and no service level appears at any tier.
